Working in conjunction with EyeSight, the available driver monitor distraction mitigation system is like having an attentive co-pilot along for the ride, available to give a helpful alert if a driver becomes distracted or drowsy. This system is designed to enhance the effectiveness of other safety systems while also increasing passenger safety within the vehicle. If its steering-column-mounted camera detects a distracted, drowsy, or incapacitated driver, it will provide an alert. Driver monitor also combines with other safety systems such as the Emergency Driving Stop System by allowing them to intervene earlier when necessary.
